Tidy gym well worth a visit.
I used to work at this business and whilst I was there, a member wrote a good review about my services with him and named me. This was posted to the website by my former boss as a 'member testimonial' . She asked my permission as my name was it and I was happy for it to go up as I was a staff member there.When the new owner took over the company, I left the company as I did not agree with his morals and ethics.I have recently found out that the review with my name on it, is still on the website even though I no longer work there and do not wish to be associated with it and also the person that wrote the review is no longer a member there either. There are also a further 2 testimonials on the website that are from people who are no longer members of the club which makes 3 in total that are reviewing mine and jo (the previous owners) performances and not the performances of current staff therefore they are not a current reflection of the services provided.I am unhappy with my name still on a website where I have not worked for over a year.I have contacted the gym twice via their own e mail address and my husband has contacted them twice via Facebook message and both messages have been recieved and read but we have received no reply. After 4 messages, this is completely rude and unprofessional. We also wrote on their Facebook page asking them to contact us which they deleted.I do not understand why this company are so insistent on keeping my name on their website. I understand that I have a great professional reputation but anyone that knows me and my reputation knows that I no longer work for the company so I fail to understand why they cannot simply remove my name from the review.I would just say to anyone that the "member testimonials" on the website currently are all testimonials of mine and Jo's good work before we both left the company in January 2017 and were written specifically about both of us, Well before the new owner took over therefore they do not reflect the current gym.I would hope that at some point the owner will follow my request and remove my name as I do not wish to be associated with the company further.
I have been a member of this gym for years, the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and they are doing a great job of trying to improve the facilities, love the classes too!
The owner physically intimidates his staff and bullies them until they hand their notice in. The equipment is 20 -30 years old and in terrible condition and the remaining staff are young and inexperienced and severely lacking in knowledge now all the decent staff have left. The owner is lacking ethics and morals from what I have personally experienced. Completely overpriced now for the facilities you receive considering there are so many superior gyms in York at a much lower price. Unfriendly place and has absolutely no redeeming features now the previous owners have left.
A little gem of a gym, so many don't know Haxby actually has a gym. It's compact, everything there you need and more. Staff are friendly and willing to help. Good value for money.
